Distributed Access Control

چکیده
We are interested in the design and evaluation of access control policies for virtual communities, in which an agent can be both a resource consumer as well as a resource provider, and authorization to access resources can be delegated to agents called authorities. We introduce a multiagent model that distinguishes the three roles of consumption, provision and authorization, and to evaluate the model we also introduce a deliberation model.

Rewrite Specifications of Access Control Policies in Distributed Environments
We define a metamodel for access control that takes into account the requirements of distributed environments, where resources and access control policies may be distributed across several sites. This distributed metamodel is an extension of the category-based metamodel proposed in previous work (from which standard centralised access control models such as MAC, DAC, RBAC, Bell-Lapadula, etc. c...
متن کاملAccess control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware
The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...
متن کاملAn Improved Token-Based and Starvation Free Distributed Mutual Exclusion Algorithm
Distributed mutual exclusion is a fundamental problem of distributed systems that coordinates the access to critical shared resources. It concerns with how the various distributed processes access to the shared resources in a mutually exclusive manner. This paper presents fully distributed improved token based mutual exclusion algorithm for distributed system. In this algorithm, a process which...
متن کاملModern Standard-based Access Control in Network Services: XACML in action
Access control in distributed systems is a complex problem that can be tackled in several ways. The XACML standard provides a possible solution, with several benefits and some drawbacks. In this paper we investigate the concepts behind distributed access control, review the XACML standard, and provide practical suggestions about the components to be used in building a XACML-based distributed ac...
متن کاملEngineering Access Control in Distributed Applications
This paper discusses issues of engineering access control solutions in distributed applications for enterprise computing environments. It reviews application-level access control available in existing middleware technologies, discusses open problems in these technologies, and surveys research efforts to address the problems.
متن کاملA Resource Access Decision Service for CORBA-Based Distributed Systems
Decoupling authorization logic from application logic allows applications with fine-grain access control requirements to be independent from a particular access control policy and from factors that are used in authorization decisions as well as access control models, no matter how dynamic those polices and factors are. It also enables elaborate and consistent access control policies across hete...
